I found this video on U-tube recently of Elvis singing ( a totally different song than you think ) of Just Call Me Lonesome from 1967.
I know Jimmy Day played a short time in the late
'50's ( i believe ) with Elvis but this does not
sound like Jimmy Day to me but it sure sounds like most all the country steel players from the mid '60's
sounded then..Anyone know who this is & the video just shows still shots of Elvis only so it is no help other than listening to the song..

This song is from the movie CLAMBAKE. Pete Drake is on the steel guitar. It was recorded in 1967. The album was released in 1968. Hope this helps you.

Thank You Donald..You know i never heard this song
until recently & it is a good song but the steel on it really caught my ear.I also never thought of Pete Drake being the one playing on it but i should have known as he was on a lot of artists albums during that time frame.Thanks Again..Ron

Pete Drake on the recording also John Hughey, recorded some with Elvis.

Earlier on Jimmy Day played with him and also the first steel player I have been told was the late Zane Beck SGHOF to work with Elvis on the Louisiana Hayride Shreveport,USA.

You ever heard Ray Price's version. One of the best Country tunes ever IMO.

i am sure it would be good.In fact, i had never heard this song until about 1 week ago i stumbled on it on U-Tube while i was looking for the more modern song with the same title.I REALLY like this one -
great tune to it + i do like Elvis's singing.
Would you happen to know what album Ray did the song on as i would love to hear his take on it also.
I saw him live about a year & 1/2 ago & the man can STILL SING GREAT!! Of course he had Mr Mike Cass
right up front next to him knocking the lights out!!

A long list of singers sang this great song.
