I started playing (I wouldn't call it that at first) 6 months ago after a 30 year break. My guitar has the setup it was shipped with, Emmons + P4-lower the G#'s. Since I can get minors in other ways I am looking for a better pull for P4. The guitar is in good enough condition that I hesitate to add knees and it may be a while till a more modern one for me. Remember, only 2 strings per pedal. Any help would be Greatly appreciated.

My first Pedal Steel Guitar was a Fender 2000. If you are going to add a 4th pedal, I would set it up to lower the E strings a half tone. Probably my most used knee lever. However, you may want to put that on the 10th pedal rather than the 4th so you can use your right foot for the lower (how I initially had mine setup until I added a knee lever - a kit I got from Sho-Bud). Lowering the 4th and 8th along with raising the G$ strings is commonly used cobination (e.g. open with the E's lowered a half tone and the G# raised a half tone it would give you a B7th). Pedals 4 through 8, I would set them up for the standard C6th floor pedals and then connect Pedal 9 to lower the C (3rd) string on the C6th neck.

Obviously many other options - my 2 cents.

thanks Jack

I never thought of putting it on the right end. That should work well! My C6 pedals are not standard and I do have the third string raise. Couldn't live without it having migrated from A7. I do use 2 feet on C6. Thanks Jack

I'd lower the B's (5&10) a half-tone. Or, you could raise the 1st a full tone, and the 2nd a half-tone.

The great thing about the cable Fenders is that these changes (and many others) can be made in about 60 seconds. :)

Thanks Donny

I will take a look at those changes. As far as taking 60 seconds, that's once I get it upside down in the case! haha. these guitars are Heavy
