Hey guys, about a year ago I moved my A and B pedal pull rods up one hole (away from the cross shaft) on the bellcrank. I was trying to get a little quicker action, but I think the only thing it done was make my pedals harder to mash. So, I put them back where they were to start with last night. I think I've gotten my tuning off wack by having to adjust at the changer when I made the switch, then again when I switched it back. Hope this is making sense. Anyway, to get everything back in tune, or where it should be, do I just back off all of my tuning nuts at the changer that has any pulls on my G# strings, and my B strings? Including my G# to F# lower? Then retune at the keys, then at the changer? Appreciate ya'lls advice, I know you guys can get me tuned up again.

I may be able to help on this. I was having pedal tuning problems with my C pedal on my RP. If you go to the Mullen website, you'll see advice on pedal travel. Basically, you tune the changer in on the highest string of the change until you hear the string actually raise in pitch. Back off the nylon nut 2 full turns then tune the pedal at the allen screw where your pedal rod hooks on. (for the highest string) Then tune the other string at the changer. Now that I read this, it looks more complicated than it is, but the Mullen website will set you straight. Worked great for me. Click here _________________ Mullen RP D10, Peavey NV112, Hilton volume. When I bought my Mullen it was on the floor in the Mullen room in Dallas. Evidently when people tried it at the show they would tune it with the nylon tuners until they were all too tight. I had tuning problems until I backed them out and started over, after that it was fine and stays in tune very well. The changer fingers should come to rest in the no pedal or knee position, otherwise they are balanced precariously against the nylon nuts. |
