Our Kansas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame member, Curt Shoemaker, got to meet with the Governor of Kansas(Kathleen Sebelius) recently. Here is a picture of him and the Governor holding his plaque. The Governor didn't even know that we had a steel guitar club, but she was very interested in it and we thank Curt for promoting the club and offer our congratulations to him for his achievement! Curt also has a Gospel CD coming out shortly and I hope he don't get mad at me for promoting it, but we're sure proud of him! Way to go, Curt! Ray

Congratulations, Curt!

By the way, I read about your award in our local paper. They said that, right after the photo opp, the Governor was heard to mumble to her personal assistant, "I dunno; some guy named 'Shoe'. I think he plays one of those whiney things...See if you can get me Robert Randolph for next month."

Whatever... Wink

It is truly an honor being placed in the HOF with the likes of my good friend Scotty Henderson, and all the other great players listed. Thanks to the Kansas Steel Guitar Association for making it possible.
The real honor is being a member of the steel guitar world, and having each one of you as a friend. Thanks so much, Curt "The Shoe"
