Does anyone know if the plated metal plates on Rick bakelite B6's changed in any way over the years. I have a very early (C61) steel that someone long ago "updated" with the white metal plates and knobs from a '49 model (including flip up head cover)and I would love to take it back to stock. Would any of the nickel plates be correct? I know ca. '38 they added the tone control.
Also anybody know where I can score or swap for them?

All bakelite steel guitar plates are interchangable ... even the celluloid ones.

I'd strip the white paint off ... and send them to a shop that does "show chroming" ...

I've had good luck by calling up some custom Harley shops and asking for a plater, they always know the best ones.

There is one on ebay with chrome metal plates and is listed as a Rick model B-6 made in 1937/38. Ebay also has another one with plastic plates
