| Who is the steeler that played behind Kellie Pickler on American idol last night? Great job! There were several camera shots of him...I'd say he had a pretty big audience! |

It's Jay Leach. A great guitar and Steel player and a lovely person.
Funny that you are saying there were several shots of him. I had a talk with him the night before and he told me about the show. I kept looking, and couldn't see hardly any shots of the band.
I really wanted to see him.
I was steeping in and out helping my wife for her "Windows" exam during the breaks, that's probably when I missed him.
I met him at the L.A. Pedal Steel Jam and videotaped his take on "Sleepwalk". Just superb.
I will post it today.

Sorry you missed him, Jay was definetly panned in 3 or 4 takes. Very tasty back up and fills. Enjoyed it very much along with Kellie......  TX

Jay Leach graciously invited me to his "Sheperd of the Hills church Passion Play" concert in the Valley tomorrow.
I am delighted to go and see him play live.
