Another great meeting. Great crowd and super pickin'. Jody Cameron's lesson dealt with use of the augmented chord. The players;Jody Sanders-D10 Pedalmaster, Jody Cameron-D10 Rittenberry, Doug Childress-S12 Zum, Orie Oubre-S12 Pedalmaster, Jim Saunders- D10 Mullen, Jim Loessburg-D10 Emmons. Vocalists : Dottie Jack, Jade Jack, Gene Brogden, and Jac Rickman. The musucians : Jade Jack on fiddle(Jade is only 12 yrs. old and already an accomplished fiddler, sounds like Tommy Jackson re-incarnated) Patty Phelps on bass and keyboard, Jim Saunders Guitar, Billy Phelps on bass, drums, and guitar, Russ Rickman on bass, Jody Cameron on drums, Fred Jack on guitar. Our featured player was Jim Loessburg from Roundrock, Texas. Jim treated us to a great variety of tunes along with his bride Dottie doing some songs off her CD's, with Jade Jack on a couple of tunes. Jim is one super player. Gets great tone using only his volume pedal between his guitar and the amp. His only effects is the reverb in the amp. Thanks a bunch Jim. The JAM players : Jody Sanders, Jody Cameron, Jim Loessburg, Doug Childress, and Orie Oubre. A big thanks to Billy and Patty Phelps for all they do to keep our club going. Thanks to everyone who attended. Be sure to keep Bobby Bowman in your prayers as he is still very ill. See you next time May GOD bless, Jody, Billy, and Patty. |

These meetings just keep getting better and better. The likes of Jim Loessberg with backing and interplay with the local greats was a treat to behold. We should have recognized your induction into the Texas Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. Jody Sanders, you deserved the award as a player and as an ambassador to the steel guitar. |

Thanks to Jody S., Patty and Billy Phelps for your work with the club. I for one appreciate your efforts in providing a venue for steel players to come together for fellowship and enjoyment. |

Jody, Billy, and Patti, I'm sorry I missed your last show. We were moving out of our house last weekend. Also, my father-in-law, Vic, and my mother-in law were hit from behind by a drunk driver, while stopped at a red light, Saturday before last, and my mother-in law passed away this past Sunday from her injuries she recieved in the accident. Please remember our family in your prayers. Jody, I'm so glad you survived your recent ordeal on the highway. I guess I'm going to have to start carrying a handgun also. The highways are getting so dangerous. |

Hey everybody,
Dottie, Jade, Fred and I want to give our sincere thanks to you all for inviting us to be a part of your meeting. We all had a terrific time and enjoyed all the players very much. Thanks a million to all the band folks and vocalists who helped make the meeting a great success.
For those of you in the Houston area who have not yet had a chance to attend these meetings I encourage you very strongly to do so. The music is great and the people are even greater. You will never find a nicer group of Christian people!
Best wises,
Jim |
