Don, as far as I know John Clark is playing steel with Moe. It's been a couple of months since I have talked to John or Moe so I can't be 100% certain. But John has been with Moe for about 25 years so I think his job is secure Wink

John played fiddle when I was with Moe back in the 80's. He was always a great steel player, and it would make me a little nervous having him looking over my shoulder all the time!

Thanks Tommy. That's who was with him the last time at the Llano Opry, but I couldn't recall his name for the life of me. They're coming back this Saturday March 8th for 2 shows. I'm really looking forward to it. By the way from what I've heard of your playing lately you don't have to worry about anyone looking over your shoulder. Way to go guy.

Aww man, Moe and the Americana's put on two great shows at the Lan-Tex. John Clark just bought a brand new Williams Universal natural wood curly maple with Truetone pup's. This was the first gig he's played it on. Playing through a N-112 and boy did it sparkle. And yes Lee they're are headed your way I think for Monday and Tuesday. I think Moe said Mission Tx. After that their going to Ireland for a tour. Those Ireland boys are in for a treat Smile Smile

I saw this a few days ago, and thought some of you might be interested.
Very good player.
Perk your ears up at about 1:05, there is some great chromatic fill work going on.

Phil Coontz was playing steel with Mr. Moe for several years and most of the while when Moe performed at Branson, MO.

Next, one of my good friends and probably one of the best fiddlers I ever heard, named Bobby Brown from Lynncreek, MO was with playin' with Moe Bandy for a couple years at Branson.

I'll say that Phil Coontz was one of the nicest and best commercial steel players I've heard. He played our Annual Steel Show at Marshfield, MO and brought the house down. Surprised me but he was also a pretty darn good singer on a Country tune as well.

I played steel for Moe for three years from "02" to "05". Moe is a great guy and I enjoyed playing for him. His music is very steel oriented and I believe Weldon Myrick played on most of his albums. I also did a little comedy on his show for those of you who don't think some steel players can be a little goofy.
