I have an acer 5315 notebook and when I play music the sound is dragging, actually more than music. My wife has a piano teaching program and the voice is dragging also, this has windows vista basic. Any ideas?
Thanks Ken |

The old uninstall may take care of it. Go to the Device Manager, uninstall the sound module, then restart Vista and the sound will be detected and reinstalled. This takes care of many different problems. If this doesn't help, reinstall the sound drivers.
To access the Device Manager, hold the Windows Key down and then Press the Pause/Break key. When the panel comes up, the Device Manager is listed under the Tasks in the upper left of the panel.
If you are going to use the PC for a lot of music you would be better upgrading to Vista Home Premium, which is better suited for "media" purposes. You should also look at the amount of memory, if this is a "low price" model it probably is lacking in memory, too. Minimum you should really have for Vista is 2GB. |

Thanks Jack, With all my tinkering it is now working right. I wish I knew what I did to fix it.

PS Did you know Pumpkin Parker, when you did the Jimmy Swan TV show? |

Kenny, that's too long ago to remember. It was 1960 and I don't really remember too many from there, of course Jimmy Swan and there was a female that may have worked for the station that would make sure we were set up correctly.
I'm originally from Mechanicsburg, PA and I would always catch Hell because I was a "Yankee".
The singer that got us on the show to start with was from Biloxi and was a Johnny Cash wannabe. |
