Here's a Thumbstyle tune which I recorded today
on my E Nine Six 8 string tuning as a tribute to
two great guitar players who had such an influence
on me.
I am just completing the Tablature for this one
and it is available

I can play it slow..note for note.. which makes
this stlye easy to learn. Solo no band.

Great tune and great playing. I love it! Too short,though.

I'm a big fan of Travis picking (Kentucky Thumbstyle, as some call it these days).
I'm a fairly decent Travis Picker on standard guitar, But I'm new to Steel, so haven't really tried that style on steel yet.
I'll definetly be checking some of your material out in the future.

I keep the songs short because it
helps with the learning process.
The important thing is to learn the
technique and it does not take
four,five pages of Tab/Music to do that.

I am going to have to work up one of these Atkins/Travis pieces after hearing how well you do them!! That is going to be a challenge. Thanks so much Roy.

It seems I have been shoveling snow off the drive
way daily.
Bill, I know you play Atkins style on standard guitar. In transposing it to STEEL the real challenge is keeping a root and five under the
melody. I find my E Nine Six great as I have a low
E and E an octave higher with the 5th in between.
When that is not always possible I search out
harmony bass notes. I look forward to what
you come up with on the extended Leavitt. I am
sure it will be an eye opener.
