Here are 2 parts of a little jam session I had with a great Atlanta drummer I met literally 2 minutes before recording. I'm playing my no-name lap steel with a DiMarzio Fred pickup in the bridge through a Peavey Classic 50 2'12" amp.
It's a pretty raw jam, but it was a lot of fun!

Cool Screamin' tone Steve. Your playing inspires me to think out of the box and experiment. Loved it! Thanks for posting!

Great jamming! Interesting to watch your right hand technique,- flatpick and bare fingers, eh?

Cool

I believe that's Jr. Brown's method, too, since he's going back between regular guitar and steel. I started out that way, but finally made myself learn to use fingerpicks.

In any case, REALLY nice playing and tone, Steve! Raw is all good, IMO. Very Happy

Smokin'. Great job Steve.
So that's pure hot pickup, cranked amp? No pedals?

Wild and crazy ... fun stuff Smile

Wish you were in my neck of the woods. I've got one of my maple / mahogany Deco steels with a BG-Pups Hellabucker I'd love to hear you play. Its a 17k double slug monster rock machine that just kills Smile

Thanks guys - I really appreciate the feedback!

Yeah Jon, that's the steel straight into the dirty channel of the amp...the Fred pickup isn't a terribly hot one, sounds good clean too.

Tom, I wish I could check out your lap steels, they look great!

Cool stuff, Steve! I enjoyed your imitation scratching at the beginning of the second video. What tuning(s) are you using?
