Aloha Lap Steel

I'm speechless .... it sparks a fuzzy, indistinct memory of my grandmother's kitchen ...

I played this guitar, back when Phil's Guitars was in South San Francisco. It looks like it's a factory original guitar. The sound was unremarkable, but the look... I've never seen another one like it.

I love it. I've got a red-plastic/wood Aloha and love the tone. My first lap ebay purchase about seven years ago ($115).

A LOT of the parts look like "Concord" I'll check with the 'Guru' Mr. Marsden.
Another concord model was the 'Star'

Was this a production model or a "one off"? It's so freaky it's beautiful! I hear the I Love Lucy theme every time I look at it. It must have been made to appeal to 1950's housewives.

I like it (but then I often go for style over substance ;-) ) Don't mean to get anal, but does anyone know anything about the stand? I have one just like it. It's great too (if a little wobbly).

I would guess that Phil Emerson would be the person to talk to about the stand, since it's his picture.
(By the way, Phil is an excellent guitarist and the brother of Ken Emerson, a noted steel player.)
