newbie starting

Ordered a Rondo SX LG1 lapsteel Fri. 2-22, only color in stock was blue and stands out of stock till summer. I've got a Crate FR15R amp,bar,finger picks and a cable ordered from Musician's Friend. I'm going to use the new Mel Bay " anyone can play the C6 lap steel guitar" book, ordered from a local music store.
I'm ready to start learning the lap steel guitar and will probably also look for a teacher in the San Jose/ Silicon Gulch area.
