Does anyone have settings for the POD that sound good for pedal steel? The presets are useless for PSG in my opinion.

I bought this for 6 string several years ago and just thought that it might be interesting to try.

Any settings or tips would be great.

Tim

Hopefully Dave Mudgett will chime in. I have the settings he gave me at home, which I'm not at right now. I tried recording with them to my hard drive using Gold Wave and I thought they sounded pretty nice. He starts with the Twin Reverb model, I know that much. You'll have to have the Midi into your computer to tweak them correctly, can't do it with just the onboard controls.

Thanks Michael, just got in from work. That's still a good nominal Pod 2 setting for me with most of my steels - the Zum/Truetone-pickup, Emmons/Lawrence-pickup, that type of thing.

The Deluxe Reverb model can also be useful, but is a bit more midrangey and if I don't want distortion, I need to switch off the Drive Boost and bring the Drive control down far enough. But I find it useful for a couple of my steels - especially my old Sho Bud. I dunno why, but it sounds really good with that '72 Rack and Barrel Professional S-10 with the original tapped-coil pickup. I also use the Deluxe Reverb model for guitar - Tele, Strat, Paul, whatever.

I have to confess I've been using my Tubefex into a 300-watt GK bass head a lot lately, thanks to Tony Rankin's "Dickey Overbey" setting. Lotsa clean headroom and a clear pristine sound. But it's a bit much for a low-volume gig, to say the least.

Thanks again, Dave. I just relistened to my take. My daughter's doing a parody of "In My Room" and she's singing it with steel guitar only as backup. If I knew how, I'd get the MP3 on here. Pods were pretty much made for recording anyway, I believe, and it works great for direct into the computer. Of course a Mullen RP helps a little bit, actually a big bit. I've had mine for a year and a half now, and it still amazes me every time I play it. What a great axe. (Black, of course)

Thanks! Are you using the Sound Diver software to midi to the POD or is there something else that Line 6 has come out with?
I really appreciate the help.

Now you caught me at work again, but Sound Diver works, but I use Line 6 Edit (I think) which works even better for me. You get a graphic of the controls, etc. You should be able to find it to download at the Line 6 website.
