I have never heard any Eddie Alkire recordings.
Can someone post a clip of anything of his?
Thanks,
David Phillips |

Dave, I have 3 cd's of Eddie Alkire songs recored in the 50's-60's that I got from Ed Alkire Jr. I will try to post one of the songs in the next few days, as soon as I learn how to go about it. If you are interested you can contact Ed Jr at (alkire@nni.com) or 610-967-3391.

Thanks Charles,
I spoke work Ed Alkire this morning after another nice gentleman, Maurie Junod, let me know the family still has some CDs.
Thank you for your post and sending me in this direction as well.
Are you currently playing the Alkire tuning?
I do not but I do play an Eharp in C6.
All the best, David (never Dave) Phillips |

Thank you, THANK YOU Charles, for that great info. I will phone Ed Alkire Jr. tomorrow afternoon to inquire whether his father's instructions and CDs are available. I have a fond memory of hearing him play for me when I pruchased an Eharp in 1945. I would dearly love to refresh that memory. Yes, I still play (using the word play loosely here) with the original tuning. Can you let me know when you post your CDs? I wouldn't want to miss that!
Cheers, Del |
