I use a VS-2 at the moment and am also thinking about getting a stroboflip in the big D too..
Who uses these stroboflips?
Who thinks I am wasting money on a stroboflip when I have a VS-2 already?
Who put the screw in the tuna? ( I think that was from an old Keenan and Kel show )..

NO it was Jessica Simpson who put the screw in the tuna when she thought she was eating chicken, chicken of the sea.
Thanks. |

David, as in tune as you are when you play, keep on tuning exactly as you've been doing. I'm one who believes: "When it isn't broke, don't fix it."
BTW, that's meant as a compliment..

David,
I have both, but I mainly use the VS-11. The only advantage I see with the Stroboflip is it takes up less space. See you in the big D. |

I had a VSII, bought the Strobe O Flip and liked it better because of size and sold the VSII. |

david,
I had the VS11 and sold it to buy the 'Flip.
Both units are about the same but the Flip is more portable.Only issue with it was the one time I clamped it to the leg of my steel and played(did a soundcheck)with it connected to the chain,it caused distortion.I posted a question on this forum some time ago and one of the players said it needs to be sent back to the factory for correction.
It is no big deal to connect/disconnect as required and I really do like it.
I am one of those lucky people who is gifted with cloth ears in place of musical ones so I really do need a good tuner.
This may help

Does the VS-II have a dobro pre-set?
That is the reason I want the Strobo Flip, because in addition to steel it comes with a dobro pre-set. _________________ Mark |

Mark, the StroboFlip does have TWO dobro presets, one with the thirds tempered further flat than the other.
I always whip mine out in the studio to see the reaction from the bass/guitarists trying it and hearing how much sweeter they sound than when using their Boss floor tuners.
For steel or Dobro it's a lifesaver when tuning in a "silent" environment or noisy stage. I especially like it on club gigs where I'm the only one not making a racket trying to fine tune between songs. |

I tried to program the Strobo Flip to go 1/2 down, but to no avail. I followed the manual, but it did not seem to work. Like the Buckaroos once did, I want to have the Strobo Flip tune my steel 1/2 down.
Suggestions?
Yours,
Steinar |

Steinar, if I understand correctly, you want to tune one semitone down (Eb9 or B6 instead of E9 or C6).
If you're using the E9 or C6 presets, all you need to do to drop them a 1/2 step (one semitone) down is to press the "Drop/Key" button and push the down arrow button once, you'll see "Drop:-1" on the screen, to save that as your default, just press the save button and you're done.
Bear in mind that "Drop tuning one half step down" also means that in Eb9 instead of seeing the note names A#-C#-D#-F-G-A#-D#-G-D-F etc., they will appear as B-D-E-F♯-G♯-B-E-G♯-D♯-F♯ even though they are in fact detuned by a semitone.

I am sure Keenan ate tuna and choked on a screw at one time. When wanting to take the tuna company to court they agreed to settle out of court with a million or two dollars. But when keenan wanted to get greedy and ask for more in court, kel owned up, and said, I PUT THE SCREW IN THE TUNA.. I remember...but Jessica simpson may have too, dont like the simpsons much.. I think my kids watched a repeat of that show many times and so KEL put the screw in the KORG TUNER !! ( I thought I better not say PETERSON.. Cos they are the best..DH.. When are they bringing out a MATCHBOX SIZED ONE? I give them 2 years ?? DH again.. NITE NITE |
