Terry Christofferson, perhaps?
My rig: Infinity and Telonics.

Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg?

That is Terry. He always set on a stool a little higher than normal and tilted his guitar forward a bit. Terry's main instrument was actually lead guitar but he became (and still is) a pretty good steel player and can lay down those west coast licks with the best of 'em. At times he'll strap on one of those Steinberger "headless" guitars and go back and forth between the guitar and steel!.........JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

Thanks guys. I have many of the Buckaroos albums from the 60s but need to invest in some later ones as well.

This appears to be the same person who was backing Buck on his "Farewell Concert" recorded live at Billy Bob's. As Jerry stated, he played a Steinberger headless guitar and a Mullen steel and alternated between the two often on the same tune.

Terry was a great guitar player in the Fresno area, and when he went to work for Buck I was surprised to see him playing steel, and playing it well. He's a fine musician.

there used to be some footage from Hee-Haw on youtube, with JayDee as a Buckaroo playing "Who's Gonna Mow Your Grass"... had to be one of the show's first episodes, possibly before Buck was even a cast member.

I love JayDee's playing on this one:

he even gets a shout-out during "Together Again"!

Jay Dee did about a dozen episodes of Hee Haw, they used to film episodes in batches.

I saw Terry a few times with Buck at the Crystal Palace in Bakersfield. He sure sounded great on both instruments. He also was managing the restaurant.
