i was just doodling around a few minutes ago
and started playing "another bridge to burn"
with the sound track and i kept finding more
and more ways to play it.
i must have played it 15 differant ways
this is what makes the steel so interesting _________________ proud parent of a sailor

...and so confusing. That's why you never hear the pros play a phrase exactly the same way twice. |

...and so confusing
that is what I had so much trouble understanding
i would work my tail off learning something one way
go over to my teachers house only to watch him
play it a dozen different ways

Calvin,I very seldom play a song the same way twice,[except maybe a signature lick] that's important to the song,I'm a little on the dumb side and can't remember what I played last time,so just improvise,By the way really hope your wife is doing better, know you are taking good care of her.DYKBC. _________________ Hard headed, opinionated old geezer. Back in the early 50's Noel Boggs recorded his "Boggs Boogie" with the Spade Cooley big band (with horns). The bridge he solo'ed on knocked me out with the phrasing. I was friends with Noel, so one day I went over to his house to have him teach me that particular bridge. Well, Noel said when he recorded the song that he played the bridge from what he felt and was inspired to play at the time. He said he could not teach it to me because he never played it the same way twice again ! |
