I am shopping for a new lap steel and I am looking for one that is comfortable while standing and playing with a strap (dobro-style). The one I have now is quite uncomfortable, and the short scale length seems to make it harder to play up high while standing. What do you guys use when you stand and play? |

I use a console guitar for that, myself. A Remington to be exact. But the superslide has a special setup you can buy to help you play with a strap if you want to do it that way. Check out the MSA website. _________________ Amor vincit omnia |

Jason DuMont at Lap King offers a stand up support arm. http://www.lapking.com/belaire.htm
Jerry Douglas plays one standing up so I guess it's safe to assume he uses the support arm. Jason could tell you more. |

Hi Kyle,
Here is a picture of a Rodeo Chad Jeffers is playing on tour with Carrie Underwood with a stand up arm he has a Bel Aire with an arm on the tour too but I think he likes this one better. Different strokes and all that. He's playing the Grammy awards with Carrie Feb 10th so you might be able to see it being played.
