I had my Remington D-8 refinished (was a pretty bad dark walnut color). I removed all the hardware and electronics and sent it off to AJ Nelson of Hendersonville, TN...
for the stripping and sunburst application.
When I got it back I hand rubbed it down with various fine grades of finishing creams to get a mirror finish. Put it back together and installed stacked vol/tone controls for each neck.

Since you have changed the tone controls, has it changed the tone from the original sound?

I haven't noticed any change in the tone since I changed the control setup. I like the ability to set the tone independently on each neck, especially when I use both necks in the same song.
