I've watched John Hughey and other top steel people play and they alway have this big black box sitting off to their right that they will occasionally reach over and turn a knob on. It's set so the knobs are facing upright. Is this a tuner, an effects box or what? Thanks.

That's called a talent box, so they don't have to carry their talent around with them all the time, like when they go shopping, or watch tv |

Michael,
That's a rack case for rack-mounted components that you can mount and configure any way you want. May hold a pre-amp, processor, equalizer, tuner, etc. |
