This should be very interesting.

Brad, it's Eric Shoaf. Long time no, whatever. I don't frequent the various steel guitar lists, not sure if you do anymore. But there is an exciting project now in the works that will be of importance to anyone interested in Gibson lap steels. None other that Andre Duchossoir is publishing a book on these steels sometime later in 2008. As you would expect, it will be detailed and illustrated to the same level as his other books. Feel free to spread the word.

Richard Shatz and myself have contributed photos of specific instruments from our collections to Andre for his upcoming book on Gibson lap steels. The level of detail he has planned, especially considering the # of variations within any given model, will be pretty darn amazing. It will be a limited run and based on Andre's previous books, another winner.

I'm really looking forward to it.
Andre said it will include just about every model and variation. It should be available this Spring.
