Hi all,
I'm a new member from Brooklyn. I'm thinking about buying a Deek's Custom 8 String from pedalsteelguitar.net for $375. I was just curious about what any of you guys thought about the guitar, the price, etc. The link to the page is below. Thanks, and glad to be a part of this.

Never heard one. If you get it, I'd be curious to know what you think.
The immediate drawback (at least as far as I'm concerned) is the apparent lack of volume and tone control. I use those two knobs all the time and it would drive me crazy not to have them handy. But it sure looks nice, especially for a lower end lap. |

Looks interesting but I find that lap steels with the George L pickups sound like PSG's. Wouldn't be an immediate turn on for me, but if you like that it looks like a great guitar. |

Why don't you go to www.steelguitar.net and check out some of their 8string instruments? |

I have a double 8 made by this fellow,Bob Deiedrich. To me, it's great as a student instrument- sounds closer to a PSG with the George L's as mentioned above. I like the sound for western swing and jazzy stuff. |

Any idea where I could find one of them? |
