Moon Of Wintertime..First Nation Music

This song goes back to the late 1500's
when the Huron First Nation settled around
the area of the Great Lakes. (Lake Huron etc.)
About that time a Roman Catholic Priest and
Missionary lived among the Huron people.
He wrote lyrics and a melody for a song to help
teach them about JESUS.
In an Iroquois (enemy nation) uprising in 1639
our Missionary was killed in the attack; but his
little song lived on and became known as the
Huron Carol which is still sung around the world
each Christmas time.
I took some liberties in arranging this melody for
Steel Guitar and chose to call it "Moon Of Wintertime".
It is played with the original meaning however: A
King Is Born. http://freefilehosting.net/?id=pN32kaTR

Hi Ray, Lee,,, thanks.
Lee, the two bars of flute opening
intro I downloaded from a site. I
thought it set an appropriate tone
for the song?
