Does anyone know if all Fender 8 string tuning pans are interchangable? |

No they are NOT all interchangable.
The early string pans were rather integral in nature. You could not remove the tuners from the pan without a lot of trouble. On the later model tuning pans there were slots in the pans so the tuners could be slid out, one side at a time.
Also, the early tuning pans were rectangular in shape. The later pans were built on a taper.
The tuners were different also. The early Fenders had, what is called "lollipop" tuners, in that they were perfectly round. The later tuners had an oval shape.
Also, the pre-Stringmaster guitars had tuning pans that hooked over the end of the guitar and not just sit in a cavity like on the Stringmasters.
