Hi Bob, welcome to the forum!
To post pics, you first have to upload them to a server. Then all you have to do is type in the URL with the tag around it.

Like this:

Click on "edit" to see the code for this.

There are free image hosting sites on the web.
I use Image Cave http://www.imagecave.com/
After you sign up, you can browse your hard drive (or a card reader or digital camera) for the photo, and upload it.
[You will probably want to reduce the size of the pic (select 'modify image) down to 500x400 or so, so it will fit on the page.]
That done, you copy the EZ Code and paste it onto your post.

Although I'm Swedish, I also live in England. I'm very much a beginner on steel guitar - it's great to explore this instrument and this forum is the place to turn to for advice and knowledge in abundance. Out of the few things I do know, I can't think of much I didn't pick up here.

You might remember this (1950 ish block logo) Fender Triple 8 being discussed on these pages a few months ago.



Well, despite the general opinion that it was a dog, I bought it off eBay. It was, in a somewhat understated manner, described by the seller as being ‘neglected’ but after a lot of elbow grease, a bit of soldering and a hand rewind of half a pickup, (sorry about the photo – if anyone wants a better one I’ll try again) it works.



Some tuners are worn and need stringing the wrong way, but they all function and hold. The current cream/magnolia finish (it resembles Old English White as used on a 1965 Mini!) is oversprayed on what appears to be Fender Blonde with a mid grey undercoat. OK, so it’s definitely not original (any opinions as to which bits may be?) but it’s added a new colour to the band and lots of people at gigs come and ask about it. Better out there being seen and played than languishing at the bottom of a junk pile in someone’s garage.

I’ve got it tuned to high C6, G6 (one tone down from A6) and E13 and increasingly finding the C6 neck to be really useful. Time will tell, I guess. The big benefit has been 3 necks. Plenty of scope for tuning experiments or option anxiety depending on one’s state of mind.

Sound is fine for me; I’m not chasing a particular tone or style. Currently playing it through a Boss GT5 guitar FX unit and a Trace Acoustic TA100R amp since that’s what I use in the band (www.emmitttill.co.uk) with an electro acoustic and a Strat. The amp doesn’t really like magnetic pickups but I’m too idle to take 2 amps on gigs. But I just listened to some of the tunes on the site and the tones (not to mention the playing) are fabulous. Must rethink, methinks.

I also slide on a Regal Dobro copy in G, Jap Strat in G, Guild F4CES in D and Supro Supreme (all original!!!!) in Leavitt (just investigating this tuning and my brain hurts). But I’m a guitar player really (Yamaha APX1, Martin D35, JayDee Hooligan, Ovation 1612, Lowden F27 in DADGAD). Oh, and a Bouzouki in GDAD.

Ive also just joined from the U.K. what a wonderful place !
I understand that you get a free 1956 Fender stringmaster either a twin ,triple or quad as soon as you join. Mine has not arrived yet has yours ? !!!
