This is taken from Joe Stoebenau Music (http://www.steelguitarzone.com/). To play a minor chord, place the bar three frets higher than the root (tonic). This may not work in all tunings, but it does in several tunings I tried. For example, in an E tuning, to get an E minor you play notes in the G major position (3 frets higher than E)and find the 2 or 3 notes you want. Simple, but worth remembering.
