Is it just my imagination, or have baby boomers gone from buying what they wanted to play as kids, to buying the actual instruments their favorites played?

No one has bid yet. Asking 7K is one thing... Getting 7K is another. I never even heard of Bob Shane before this post! Confused
Of course, I know who the Kingston Trio were.

If you had never heard of Bob Shane, how could you have known who the Kingston Trio were?

I read the auction description, and it mentions the Kingston Trio. I have heard of them and their music, but I never heard the name Bob Shane before this. In the '60s I was not a folk music fan or a Kingston Trio fan Winking

Doug,

That's a good principle to keep in mind--for ebay, gbase, etc. A buyer might think that he has to pay X, but he might find it cheaper. And a seller might think his ax is worth X because there is one for sale at that price, but he won't get that much.

What I wonder about are the gbase dealers who leave something way overpriced for years on end. They must know some way to profit that way. Maybe there is a formula for figuring how high prices overcome low turnover.

Shane has one of my favorite voices of all time. And he was so cool that he had Martin make a double-pickguard to match his sideburns.
