Does anybody know if Rhonda is related to Ray Vincent of Asleep at the Wheel? And are her Blue Grass friends upset with her amplified country sound, which is very good BTW.

Delvin, I may be putting my foot in my mouth but the leader of Asleep at the Wheel is Ray Benson. As far as Rhonda, she's one of the greater girl singers. Ray

Ray, you are so right. Whenever DJ's said his name I thought they said Vincent, silly me for not checking it out. But I like Rhonda anyway.

Richard, I'll have to second the "Woof Woof" for Rhonda! She's one of the hottest looking ladies in show business. I saw her on a TV concert once where she was doing a total bluegrass show and playing a pretty hot mandolin. What was cool was the fact that she was wearing a sequined floor length evening gown while doing it. The girl's got class along with a whole bunch of talent. Another reason I love her is that she just ain't no "chick singer" only!... She's the whole package, great voice, good looks, a songwriter, and picks her b--- off on her instrument of choice (mandolin)...JH in Va.

She also knows how to pick out a good harmony singer.

Rhonda put out several fine country projects with steel and appeared on Nashville Now a few times. Her
presentation then was as it is now-flawless. They
wouldn't let her in the mainstream, chart driven game
because they didn't know how to handle someone like her who has a complete sense of who she is artistically, without having to be hyped and packaged
by a team of consultants, accountants and lawyers.

She is sticking it to them now. Dotto Alison

and Ray's last name is Seifert, it does share a few more letters to Vincent than Benson.

Not to distract from her records, but she sings
with Darlye Singletary on After the "Fire is Gone."
on his album "That's why I sing this way. "

For you gospel music lovers, Bill Gaither has a couple of Bluegrass CDs and DVDs and Rhonda Vincent is on them. Very, very nice!

After seeing the pix above, I'm gonna drop Leona Williams and make a play for Rhonda! :!:

Seriously, Rhonda has a very fine voice and, as said above, super harmony backup. I have bought several of her songs.

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting RV this past summer at the Salem County Bluegrass Festival. She did 2 shows, her band was exceptional... Rhonda is a petite woman with a gigantic amount of talent.
I remember the first time I heard her, I was working the PM drive shift at a local FM station and I was checking out some new releases in cue, while I was playing a current hit.. after about 10 seconds of the preview I just stopped the tune that was airing and announced that I just heard an amazing new voice and tune..and played it.. the phones lit up light a christmas tree when it was over.. It was a very commercial sounding country tune.. and I can't remember the title.. anyone know the tune?

Bo, it might have been "I'm going under cause I'm not over you". Good commercial country song. Ray

Rhonda is a class act in every sense of the word, IMO. As has been said here she is a fantastic musician who comes from a bluegrass family. She has made the occasional foray into the C&W mainstream with a bit of success but she is acclaimed as the Queen of Bluegrass...a pretty nice nickname that she well deserves.

In Branson a couple of years ago about 9A.M. on a hot summer Saturday morning her bus was in the Wal Mart lot. She was out in the hot sun selling CD's before leaving for the next show that evening. The poor girl was red faced and soaked with sweat, but she said "Well, you gotta make a living somehow and this thing doesn't make it's own fuel" or words to that effect. Definitely not a person who is afraid to work!

Along with Sheryl Crow and Sara Evans, Rhonda represents Missouri very well indeed!!

Here's one I took of Rhonda at the Ryman back in 2005. She gives bluegrass sex appeal.

Rhonda is one of my favorites also.I Have seen her a couple or three times.

In my old memory, I heard a real good gospel duet and the announcer said it was Gene Watson and Rhonda Vincent off their new CD. I've hunted high and low for this since and can find no trace. Was my mind distorted or did I just hear wrong. Any body else heard of this?

For Joe Law....Joe , all I could come up with was a duet with Rhonda on Together Again , cut # 8 off the C D "In A Perfect World"

What kind of tree is that in the first photo? If I plant one, will I get that kind of fruit?

.....big Rhonda fan here. Great musician and vocalist. Tremendous talent. Easy on the eyes too, even if she does look a little like Lindsay Lohan in that first photo :whoa:

Working for Gretchen Wilson, we met the bus at a certain location in Nashville. Rhonda's bunch used the same place. I was happy when her bus call was around the same time as ours. She's a sweetheart and a looker. I really enjoyed looking out the bus window and watching her load her suitcase under her bus!!!

She's fired more band members than Reba.
