This model was designed by George Gruhn, and imho the best flat top Guild ever made, and right up there with a D 28, though not as boomy. I think they made a mistake in calling the rosewood "Brazilian," but in this case it might not matter.

Judging by the color and grain, I would say that is for sure Brazilian Rosewood. Indian Rosewood runs more to a brownish tinge than red.

They're also selling a collectible 8-track tape player, in it's original carry case. -

I sure wish I knew what to buy now, to sell in thirty years.... Neutral

Take the wheels off that player and you have music for all occasions (anybody know anybody who can transfer mp3's to 8 track?)
I'm bummed that I missed the Martin guitar made of space age formica with feline pattern.

Graham,

It certainly could be Braz. Some Braz is straight grained. And typical Indian does indeed look darker.

As of this post the Guild is at $10,800.00 and the reserve is still not met.

I think I will pass. needs strings anyway.

Gary,

Yes, I just wouldn't feel right if I couldn't put strings on it made of spun diamonds.

I agree, I saw this guitar advertised for sale previously for $75,000. Eventually, someone will buy it. Muttering

Donny,

Do you recall where it was for sale at 75K? I don't know squat about stars' guitars, but it seems like they sell them at places like Sotheby's. I think a Hendrix guitar got 100K or 200K or something like that. And Clapton auctioned off a lot of guitars to finance his rehab clinic (and probably bar tabs all over the world) but I don't know where they were advertised.

Maybe this is a new trend amongst baby boomers.
