I bought one of these about a month ago. Since then I've only used it with my steel. I must say that the sweetened tuning does a better job than I can by ear. Great product, and worth the $$$, IMO.

I recently tried using it to tune an acoustic instrument using the built in mic. The mic seems to be deaf. No matter what note I play into it, it goes back and forth ftom A# to B with the bars doing pretty much the same thing. It's like it can't hear anything.

For you SF owners, am I doing something wrong or do I have a defective tuner? The manual doesn't provide any guidance, and if there's a way to tell it, "hey, I want to use the mic vs. the 1/4" jack", I sure haven't been able to find it.

Help, advice, anyone?

TIA,

Dont use the built in mic, "clip on mic" is the best.

Don't remember there being a clip on mic in the box. I still have the box and all the packing materials, so I'll search the junk, um, I mean music room. But shouldn't the built in mic work, even if not as good as the clip on?

Edited: Found it! I'll give it a try; thanks for the help guys.

Edited again: Works like a charm! Thanks again for the h'ep, guys.
