There's a newly listed early 50's Triple 8 Custom at Dave's Guitars www.davesguitar.com with trapazoid p/u's, walnut finish, for $795. Looks pretty clean for its age and a good price. No affiliation with store, but they seem like good guys. Check it out.

Wrong legs, no case and poor finish, and on these guitars you MUST get a warrantee on the pickups being good with no shorts, and the tuning gears to not be striped. Most are. These guitars are very expensive to fix.
The price is OK if the gears and pickups are OK, the pickups should read our at around 10.000 OHMs. I do have the original legs for these guitars.
Check it out closely, it could be a decent deal.

I'm with Bobbe on this. However this Custom if in good working condition is a "Killer Steel.

Well, it's a moot point, since it's been history for a few days--and no, not coming my way!
