Are you thinking of the Celebration 2008? It's April 25, 26, 27 at the Holiday Inn at New Philadelphia, Ohio.

Yes, that's it! My present steel, an Excel keyless S10 with 3 & 5, will be 8 years old at that show! Scotty thought it was a great steel for a 70 yr old, it only weighs 37 #s in the case! I have never broken a string, I did tune it to C6th, my favorite tuning! (for me, that is!) I started by listening to Jerry Byrd and attempting to copy some of what I was hearing. With 3 & 5, I'm a bit shy on pedals for C6th, but it's working for me, for what I do!!! I have the usual P7 on my RKL & the Excel handles it with ease! That's a stiffer pull than one usually has on a knee lever. Two strings raised a whole tone! but it works for me ever since 1973 on my S12 MSA! Many of the new steels I've tried that change on, simply would not handle it!!?? At least not to my satisfaction. Hope to see everyone in Ohio at that show! Got to hit them all this year!? Next year could be too late! Maybe I'll even try to play, "When I grow Too Old To Dream" an old song Mother & Dad taught me! I'm not there yet, but when I am too old to dream, I wonder what life might be like for me then!!??

Hey everyone . An added feature at the January jam will be a "food drive " . That's right . Bring a non-parishable food item (canned goods etc.)and get entered into a drawing for 2 "three day" passes to the steel celebration in April . The local pantries have been greatly depleted over the holidays . This is a wonderful way to give something back and maybe win yourself tickets to hear some of the greatest steel guitar players on earth ! Hope to see you all there . Rick

Hope to be there with my new Franklin. Got another new Revelation Pre Amp, Lexicon MPX-1 and put my D-130's in two of Rick Johnsons cabinets. You gotta hear this combination. This is a great Jam and everything runs so smooth. Its worth the drive.
Gary Steele.

If I remember correctly isn't there going to be something special for new players? I seem to remember something from the last jam.

What do you mean "something special?"
