Split cases - the way to go.

I have just replaced my ShoBud Pro 111 flight case (weight empty = 33 pounds) with 2 light weight split cases. The difference is incredible. As I have got older my back has not appreciated carrying my guitar, legs and pedal rack in one flight case, especially up stairs. I know guys have started using heavily foamed gig bags to reduce the weight, but the split lightweight cases are a mid-way option.

Perhaps pedal steel manufacturers should consider making this standard practise.
