I bought this oddity off Ebay recently for £4.99 as a bit of a blind gamble:
Auction on eBay.

Just arrived today so I'm keen to get it home, re-string it and see how it goes. I've never played lap steel before so should be interesting!

New strings would double its value !!

The lady I bought it from also had a triple neck which sold for £30!! They were both made in the '70s by her boyfriend's uncle apparently. Seems like the intonation etc is sound but kind of hard to tell with ancient strings on it.
