Arne: You have just joined the club of dozens of Melobar Skreemr owners who don't have any idea what to do with the instrument. The split 6+4 stringing makes no sense, and every Melobar Skreemr has lost the fingerboard rod it came with. Mine is in storage.

well its already converted into a 6 string... It comes with a "instruction-manual" im thinking about converting it back to 10 but maybe with a different tuning than the major/minor one. any idea what year this model came out?

It looks like mine did and in my opinion they are best used as 8 stringers. That weird 10 string setup kind of scuttled sales for these, just too weird for most players. They have a great layout for 8 string though.

actually not a skreemer but, a rocsac model. As I understand it there ate three models the V body skreemer, the one featured here and the gibson voyager inspired sxl

thanks for the info all of you
... the 8 string route may be perfect, stringspacing- wise, The nut and bridge has been filed to shreds on my guitar, but ive seen pictures in this forum of a guitar with a brass (?) lay-over bridge, does anyone know if these are custom made or spareparts that someone sell?
check picture here.

I would recommend that you change the nut and bridge spacing, and tune to a regular C6. But it all depends what sort of music you are playing. If you play blues, maybe you should tune to open E.
