Just curious, how many of you guys play Jeff's tuning or copedant? If so, how do you feel it compares to the other Tunings?

Thanks,

Dan

Sonny did you play any other tunings prior to going to Jeff's copedant?

Did Jeff play the 12-string universal E9th/B6th tuning?

That's the tuning Joe Wright plays and Joe's got all strings with raises and lowers on all strings--multiple raises/multiple lowers on 10 of them.

It sure seems like for that would be an easier tuning to learn than C6th if you're like me and only play the standard E9th chromatic. Of course, I don't mean Joe's copedant would be eash to swallow.

I use Jeff's tuning on mu U-12 ZumSteel. I enjoy playing E-9th the most, but, when I play western swing tunes, the B-6th tuning works really well. Everything seems to be there for me on one neck. I'm not interested in playing jazz at all, so, any additional knee levers or pedals aren't needed for me.

Dan,,,no,,not really. I tried the S-10 E9, the D-10 E9/C6, both Day and Emmons set-up for about 5 years,,then gave it up for about 15 years. When I came back I went for the universal (in fact I still had an 11 string BMI that I got from Tom Brumley,,then bought a little BMI 12 string uni that I wish I still had!!)At that time Jeff had already moved to the 12 string uni tuning and had an introduction video out,,so I just stuck with it. I've always wanted to try Zanes tuning (I remember when Zane King was just a kid and could "burn it up") If there was more instructional material out on it I would still love to try it. I started building some little keyless 8 string lap steels that are tuned to a B6 (lo-hi 6-1-3-5-6-1-3-5) that I "mess" around with,,has helped me tremendously on the B6 side of my uni.
