My wife just came downstairs a few minutes ago to tell me about a song she'd just heard on the radio... Pedal Steel Heaven, by the Get-Rites. So I found it on their website, and thought y'all would be amused...

Jesus, who's going to play the pedal steel in heaven?
Pedal steel in heaven? Pedal steel in heaven?
I don't want to be the only one
So please save my friends
I don't want to be the only one
In Pedal Steel Heaven
Lucky us, we have a WONDERFUL local radio station - The Current, part of Minnesota Public Radio. They play local music (like the Get-Rites) and all sorts of coolness you won't hear on any other station. _________________ I don’t believe in pixie dust, but I believe in magic.

Fairly simple but, nonetheless, there is a cool factor there.
Dare I suggest the dreaded sequel, "Banjo Heaven"? _________________ Tony Orth

"Welcome to hell, here's your banjo".
In one band I'm in, I work hard to come up with new ways to torment the banjo player. Lucky for him, he's not at the bottom of the totem pole... we have a guy who plays both drums AND accordion! It's just hard to go lower than that as a musician.
(edit: Talked on the phone with the banjo player while writing this and told him about it. He said people just look at pedal steel players, shake their heads and walk away) _________________ I don’t believe in pixie dust, but I believe in magic.
