Leavitt Tuning
Low to High:C#-E-G-Bb-C-D
There are string pulls in this
which sound like pedals but they are not.
One is a half tone and the other a full
tone. This allows a chord beneath to sustain
while a top string moves. Notable in the
bridge or chorus.

Andy, I use a guage 014 for my first string
which is tuned "D". This makes the full tone
"pull" quite elastic using just the middle
left hand finger.
Don, I had my foot on the volume pedal but
did not use it for this song.

Leavitt just may be a future
popular tuning for Steel Guitar? Who knows??
I never met Bill Leavitt of course but
have great respect for the man and his ability to come up with such a smart workable tuning. |
