I read it was customary to self-introduct, so... Greetings No Peddlers!

I'm Hughy McMillan. I live in the soggy burbs of Vancouver BC Canada. At this moment, I'm older than I've ever been... half a century! I bought a '62 National Student last August (and was struck by the experience so much I wrote a song about it the next day)

Then a month or so ago I reverted to Kraft dinner, dry bread and water three times a day (so I could still afford beer at night) and won a Fender Deluxe 6 on Ebay.

blablabla... anyway, I'm hammering a computer tap into your wisdom tree... thanks

Welcome, Hughy!

These days, we seem to be in sort of a renaissance period for lap/non-pedal steel!

As a kid in the 60's I took lessons for about 2 1/2 to 3 years, then gave it up for regular guitar because at the time I thought is was kind of "uncool."

Now in middle age, I find myself becoming "cool" again. Imagine that!

Hello Hugh and welcome. You're on the West Coast, I come originally from the "wet coast" and have been living in Ontario for a long time. Took Hawaiian guitar lessons in 1948 in Halifax, and have been playing (mostly in A Major) ever since!!!!!!

We have some good things on the Forum, always something interesting on the go.

Welcome from Peach Pickin' Country, Niagara.

Welcome Hugh, I live in Vancouver myself, and have seen you play many times... Spirit of the West, Don Ross, James Keelaghan... you are a fine bass player/instrumentalist... good to see you here, you will find people here extremely knowledgable and friendly.

Uh Oh... i forgot about that... thanks Jon, but i am the raw rookie Hugh McMillan, rather than the famous Spirit of the West Hugh McMillan... gimme twenty years or so!

You guys know how to drive a welcome wagon. Thanks a bushel and a peck.

Now i gotta put muffs on the cat, earplugs in my geisha, and take another crack at Poinciana...
