At first it didn't bother me. Now it does. It's always been there ever since I bought this new PC with Windows XP.

I know it can be turned off, and I have looked in settings/control panel/sounds but really don't know what I'm looking for.

What it is, is when I click on anything, say in the Forum here, to go to another page, I get this audible click. I know it slows down the process a bit, but is now getting on my nerves.

Anyway, if anyone can help me here in disabling it, I would be most grateful.

Thanks one and all.

To kill the click sound you hear when you click on a link in Internet Exploder, got to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices (XP icon title) > Sounds. Scroll down the list of installed sound events until you find the section labeled Windows Explorer. Go towards the end of the list where you will find a sound event labeled: "Start Navigation" and checng it's sound to either none, or something else, test with the sound test button, then "Apply" the change and Ok out.
