I am very proud of this achievement, but (I think) thats normal when you hear yourself in a band like this one.

But what do you guys think of this.

Please comment.

Peer now that's good picking...I'm amazed at this mans singing. He's got a very thick accent and then blows them away on that song....nice

Peer, now that's how Country Music should be played! All you younger guys take notice how everyone plays their parts and doesn't override the singer. Post some more as its very good! Ray

Great sounding band and a great job on the steel. I did a double take when the vocalist started singing with that 'good old southern drawl'. Sounds just like my 'home boys' here in Oklahoma.

I've always wondered................

Great music; fine band..........

But, I have a question:
The leader spoke with a very, very heavy accent, and yet, he sang with almost perfect English...

Do you think and play your steel in the leader's particular language, or, do translate it STRAIGHT and play it in English? Just curious...

Ray, I'm sorry to say that I simply do not understand your question.
As we are a Dutch band (and were playing before a Dutch audience) we spoke dutch to the people, but the song is in English.
I think steel in the international language called MUSIC. Is there another way? Again, Ray, I just don't understand enough English to interpret your question right.

Glad though y'all like our band.

Country has always been a big draw in the Netherlands.

Thanks Peer,I throughly enjoyed listening to you and the band. Great job. Please post more tunes on the FORUM. :)

About 30 yrs. ago I watched a documentary about Country Music in Japan. Even though the singers sang in perfect English, they didn't speak or understand one word of English. Music is a universal language.

Very Nicely Done

Hey peer........whats happening in Holland my friend?Nice tune buddy...love it....

What Ray meant(I think)was....do you play it(thinking about your native language)from a Dutch or an English point of view?

I probably can speak for you now...Peer.

Ray.....Dutch C&W singers/bands play the music in the English language 99% of the time. There are some people that try it in the Dutch language but that does not sound like it should IMO.

Peer is one of the best in The Netherlands. He belonged to the band "West Virginian Railroad" which is well known in Europe.A great friend and a gentlemen.
Country has always been a big draw in the Netherlands.
Exactly the reason why Karen and I have a tour planned next year in The Netherlands,Germany,Belgium and maybe England and Austria.

Hey Ron, thanks for your reply to Ray, I really didn't have a clue to what he meant.
Nice to see so many good reviews on this song. Our singer (Danny Hendriks (No relative of Jimmy  ) will be as proud as a dog with 7 dicks (Dutch expression) to read all this.
BTW (And this will please Ron again, and I hope many others) the steel guitar is my Garritt (Rittenberry) and the amp is the Peavey nashville 112.

Hoi Peer,

Good job and good singer too!

Dat staat er netjes op en de zanger zingt prima. Je mag er trots op zijn! Was dit in Roermond?
(sorry guys, the Dutch language always needs many more words than the English ... ;-) )

No no, Ad.
This try out for our new band was in Berkel Enschot and not in Roermond. Glad you like it.

Peer, thanks for posting that video, it was great to watch.

My first reaction was the same as some others. Your singer is speaking Dutch, the only English I heard was "OK". Then when he starts singing it sounds like he was raised somewhere in Texas, he has no accent as I thought he would.

Great job on steel and a very nice mix, sounded great!

Hi Ward, I think I finally get the message.
Our band takes great pride in trying to be as professional as can be. That means e.g. to try to sing in the original language and, what is equally important, trying to understand what the song is about. Our singer is doing a great job in this.
Your compliments in this matter will even emphasize his efforts I'm, sure.

Thanks all for being so generous with compliments.

You have a good sound and nice band.
It's also nice to hear a band that isn't blowing away the singer on stage with overbearing instrumentation.
Keep it up.
