I thought of this as I was at a local music store, there was a gibson guitar that had a big sticker "lifetime warranty", boy that would be nice.
So who has the best warranty out there now for PSG?
I always thought 1 yr was the normal. |

Not sure, I think some of the makers are interested in service so depending on what breaks and how it was broken might make a difference, and if you can fix yourself without sending steel back, etc.
If it is a matter of them sending you a part, sometimes it may go a long way for customer relations, especially given the relatively small community we are compared to other types of musicians. As an example, a few months ago I needed a part on on my 1999 Sierra. Tom Baker sent a $45 replacement part free of charge. Even after I told him I didn't mind paying. |

Jerry Fessenden told me mine came with a full warranty "til I cash the bank check, or when your tail-lights dim over the horizen." Of course, he was only joking. weren't you Jerry.

Warranties are tough on steels because so many people insist on getting under them and ruining their setups. Materials I can see being covered along with workmanship. |

I have a student who is the 2nd owner of a very late model Gibson Dobro and the reso cover chrome (or is it nickel?) cracked. He was told by a Gibson rep that the warranty only extends to the original purchaser.
