I'm sure a lot of us have our own memories of John Hughey......here's mine.

In late summer 2005 I recieved a phone call from a friend of mine in Nashville, and he said he was outside a club where John was playing. I said "WOW"! I wish I was there!...he said "hang on" and the next thing I know I am talking to Papa John himself! We talked for a few minutes and I told John I would see him in Dallas the following March, which I did. I listened to John's set with the rest of the packed house in Dallas, and afterword I told him how I enjoyed hearing him play and he said "Well, I'm having a little of a bad day playing wise".....I said "Well, if you call this a bad playing day I would love to hear you when you are having a good day"! I emailed John several times since then just to say Hi, or ask a question, and he always got
right back to me. I feel humbled, and privileged to have this experience to remember the rest of my life!
