Gibson Consolette pickups

Greetings -- just picked up a Gibson Consolette (D8) in primo condition... but, I'm not an "electric" player and have no clue about electronics... I find that the back neck is all bass, and the front neck is all treble... It has P-90 pickups on it, only one volume and tone control... Is this a pickup problem, or does anyone know if it's set that way for a reason? The tone control works on both necks, but to make the back neck have some treble in it makes the front neck painfully treble! Also, the back pickup is a lot louder than the front one, but I'm still adjusting the screws to try to even them out. All help appreciated! See ya in Joliet in October!! Thanks for the update Gerald!

Take a look at the wiring. Besides the capacitor between the volume and tone pot, is there another capacitor or? conected to the hot lead wire between the 'Dark toned' pickup and the pickup selector switch? Perhaps the previous owner modified that neck's response to his style.
It's worth a look. Good luck.
