Anyone have first hand experience using either the Raxxess or Qui-Lok music holder attachments (used on mic stand) on pedal steel legs? I don't know that that clamp opening is wide enough.

If neither of these two, any other options available?

Of course, you get to hide behind this thing too. It really would be nice if it were only about 24" wide, & I have thought of cutting it down, but can't be sure if the whole thing won't just not work at all. But who knows. It does hold my stuff, thats for sure

Looking for something very unobtrusive. It can sit real low on the leg. It'll be for 5 x 8 cards with arrangement notes. Not for full sized sheet music.

but I do have experience with a QwikStix bar holder and have found it to be very useful and of high quality. From your description of your needs the QwikStix utility tray might be just right.

My music holder stands in front of my steel and no attachments required.

If we could just get that thing moved over into the middle, I had a similar thing once, but I got a stiff neck looking to the left all the time. After a 3 hr gig, It took 3 days to get my neck back in the middle again!!

BTW, didn't you ever notice that most steel players always walk around with their head tilted to the left?

Guys, the one that Dale Hansen makes does attach to the middle. I'll try to get a pic today so you can see how it works...

I have the one that's sold through the Emmons Co (I think Scotty had them made?) - a full-width perspex rectangle with a lip at its lower edge that locates on two clips attached to the steel's front legs by means of 'velcro' ties. Being 'see-through', it's less obtrusive than the Bradshaw stand.

I thought it was pricey for what it was ($90+), and, while it works okay, there's a limit to the weight it'll take. The velcro straps will only tolerate so much strain! A big 'Fake Book' is pushing it!!!

Michael - I'm looking forward to seeing a picture of Dale's product if you can locate one.

Sorry for the delay getting in here Mike, I haven't been in here for a few days.
Yup,I've got a new thingabob I call the Pak-Rak.
It fits into your seat neatly, doesn't take up much space, and clips directly onto the front of your guitar (padded of course) you have quite a bit of flexibility with placement, and angle. I'ts primarily for studio charts, but will hold a tab book fine.
I can make them adjustable if needed, but custom fitted to the guitar is much better, (and quicker).
I'll check back, and post a photo, if Mike doesn't beat me to it.
