Sorry for the title of this thread, but I couldn't think of a better way to ask the question. I try hard to practice finger rolls and rotations for scales and runs. The hope is that when I actually play I'll use what I practice. It seems like while I'm engrossed in a song, or playing on the fly, I do what feels the best, and it usually involves using the thumb and middle finger the most. I use the index finger with the thumb and middle more for striking 2 or three strings at once, but the index finger gets a lot of down time for a lot of my playing.

I started out as a 2 finger player and seldom used my middle finger, but over the years of playing i've incorporated it into my playing as a full time member, but in a phrasing i don't stick to any 2 finger combos, just what ever is comfortable at the time. Now it would be very difficult for me to play allnight without using 3 fingers.

Yes I do.
I get the most from playing with 3 fingers.
Not trying to be smart about it.
It just comes Natural.
