I understand that Goodrich is no longer making the LSW 9 volt battery powered volume pedal. I guess that was replaced with the model 10/K pedal? If so, does anyone use the 10/k pedal and how does it perform for you compared to a standard 120 model etc?

Thanks,

Lenny

I have two L10Ks... I like 'em. The battery lasts forever, I change mine once a year just because. They use a 10k pot, which is easier to find than the 500k (and cheaper). I bought both of mine used, have had them for 5 years or so, only changed one pot out and it wasn't really that bad. The buffer amp does a nice job of keeping the tone consistent throughout the travel. It's essentially the old MatchBox circuit without the tone pot. Big plus IMO: No power cable to mess with.

I think they're great... much better than the passive pedals I've used.

I have owned and used an H10K for the past several years. I have played hundreds of gigs with it and it has never failed or given any trouble. Still has the original pot in it. I change the battery about once a year, on general principle. I must say, I am a satisfied customer for this product.

I have two H10K's (I bought one of them from Bill Terry), and I'm very pleased with them. I bought the first one new about 7 or 8 years ago, and it still has the original pot, and is still working fine. I change the batteries about every year or two.

Lenny, I had one and also liked it but what everyone is forgetting to tell you about the batteries is that if you leave the cord plugged in, the unit stays on electrically and the battery dies a lot sooner, like in a week!
In other words, if you use it strictly for gigs, where you will disconnect it each time, it's fine, but not for the music room where you want to leave it connected.

Thanks for the feedback on the 10/K volume pedal. I have an LSW Goodrich pedal that has the switch on the side to shut off the active buffer and was interested to know if the 10/k volume pedal was the same as the LSW without the switch.

The LSW pedal gives a nice "zing" to the signal, similar to using a 120 model volume pedal with a model 7A matchbox box with the tone control turned up. Just wanted to know if the 10/k pedal behaved the same way?

Thanks,

Lenny

Yes it does brighten the sound, which I've always liked.
Sort of like a LiL Izzy.

I have one of these pedals and really wanna start using it, but the string came off the pot shaft when it shipped (bought it used).

can anyone post a pic and/or advice on getting it wrapped on there correctly?

thanks!

I bought a new one a couple years ago and I had nothing but trouble with it(distortion). I sent it back to Goodrich but still had the same problem. I tried to check it myself and discovered it had a 500K pot in it. By that time I was disgusted. I ripped out the electronics and hooked it up as a straight passive pedal and now I like it fine.
