This dvd has been out for a little while now....I'm pretty new here, so forgive me if this was discussed....

Anyone see this dvd of Deke Dickerson and friends? Some amazing work on this one. If you love twin-neck guitar ala Joe Maphis you'll dig it. The special spot features TK smith (of early Big Sandy and the Smith Ranch boys) and none other than Jeremy Wakefield doing a set on Jimmy Bryant/ Speedy West. JW really has it down on that Bigsby. TK uses an original "Stratosphere" electric guitar- 12 string tuned so each string and its neighbor has the harmony. Sounds like twin guitars. They cover "This Ain't the Blues" and nail "Stratosphere Boogie" and many others.

The dvd is somewhat poor quality- kinda dark, but there is no mistaking the playing on it.

I've seen it, and despite the lo-fi sound quality, it's nothing short of amazing, great array of guitar pickers. I think the DVD of last year's geek fest will be available at this year's show, and will feature again some incredible musicians. This year the steel guitar responsibilities are handed over to our own Dave Berzansky. Here's the link and info to this year's show: http://www.dekedickerson.com/guitargeek/index.htm

Hey Dave,

Has anyone seen the Lucky Stars DVD? I ordered it and haven't received it yet.
