This guitar was listed earlier this year at the same price, and of course didn't sell.

It was listed again about 2 months ago and the bidding went up to about $30,000 (reserve not met). The current VGM price guide lists this Bigsby guitar at $24,000 in excellent condition. There were only a few made. I doubt if there are six of these in the entire world. I wonder how it sounds?

Has anyone out there ever thought Bigsby steels were to high? Looks they may be a real value after all, I bet time will shock us all there too!

This one obviously isn't in very good condition, I can't think of any reason why the aluminum parts have been allowed to tarnish, a little polish over the years would have helped this guitars appearence.
Yes, I feel it could be worth $24000.00 to a hard core collector. The Bigsby steel guitars in excellent original condition are worth ten grand up, (for the right configuration). The ones owned by famous players even more.

Doug, it probably sounds great, the sound of a Bigsby guitar PU is somewhere between a P90 and a DeArmond Dynasonic. And actually there were way more standard guitars built than just five or six, at least 20-30, including few doublenecks.

Bigsby guitars are a great part of modern musical instrument history. Does this mean that this particular instrument is worth $300K+? The value of something Vs. what something is worth, can be argued until the cows come home, or when are wives begin to tell us that all musical instrument purchases in the future are totally up to us. Vintage Gibson Les Paul models made in 1959, and 1960 have been listed in shop inventories for $250K+. Gibson Loar era F5 mandolins have been selling in the $125K to $150K for a few years. There were certainly less Bigsby guitars made than Loar ear mandolins or Gibson Les Pauls. But does that rational alone make this guitar worth $325,000? Maybe. Owners can set the value of their instruments as high as they want. It will be the buyers who ultimately decide what an instrument is worth.

<SMALL>Before you bid set aside $200 to $400...</SMALL>
That's the deal breaker right there,... the "hidden" costs... especially after you've just dropped 350 large ones on it.

For that money, the seller should include a strap, some picks, a string/polishing cloth, and maybe some Arlen Roth and Steve Vai videos. At least that's what I'd expect!

For $320,000 the guitar should come with a small vacation home and a full time guitar tech to take care of the instrument.

For that kind of $$$, the guitar would have to do everything my wife does.....'cause she'd definitely be gone!

The only way that guitar is worth 320k is if it was the Luke that wrote the Gospel of...

Of course not! Look at the second to last picture in the series. It looks like it is sitting on a flimsy table inside of a trailer house!.... Who does that?......... People amaze me.

No Pedals on her, however, it looks like an after market Knee lever has been attached to the front, and you could always drill a hole here n there for a string changer Image

All of you know that this guy did not want to sell this guitar. Right?
